A close friend recalls when she first met Fran in 1976, at that time she was already living at 927 Alice Avenue & her parents lived across the street. She grew up on this block since her early childhood. Fran had a dachshund that she'd walk across the street to her parents' home & her folks would watch her dog while she went to work. In recent years, she would sit on the front porch w/ a supply of dog biscuits & the many neighbors walking their dogs would bring them to the front steps for a treat.
