When the Popovic sisters inherited their family home owned since July 1969, Zarka – the middle daughter and project manager – was compelled to stay in her beloved family bungalow. Research revealed that this property was zoned for a 7-unit building, however that would mean losing the coveted garden that is full of sun and mature fruit trees, so the decision was made to convert the space into a 3-unit condo conversion with a small space for Zarka to keep. This labor of  love took 6 years to complete and was funded by 5 women friends. These 3 artistic Oakland women are creatives and the Coloma condos are fine pieces of craftsmanship blending the vintage 1910 original construction with modern upgrades. 50-yr. metal cool roof, solar, new foundation, updated electrical, plumbing, grey water irrigation and private redwood deck.
